Geocoding street intersections

Is it possible to send a web geocode request for an intersection of 2 streets ? What's the syntax ?

Sure. It probably depends on the locality, though. Here's an example of getting the intersection between Market and 4th in San Francisco:

http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=market+and+4th,+san+francisco&sensor=false

That's what I was trying but it doesn't seem to work too well in Australia.

Hi, 

Geocoding API bugs can be posted on the gmaps-api-issues issue tracker using the Geocoding API - Bug Template.

However, If the issue also occurs on maps.google.com this usually means that the issue resides with Google Maps data rather than the Geocoder API. If this is the case, please following the Google Maps help instructions to Report a Problem with Google Maps.

Switching places in query produce result for street1.

Maybe i should post bug report somewhere to get it going?(where)

Hi,

As I said in the reply in Dec 2010, geocoding formats are dependent on address format in a particular location.

Note that the geocoding service is for geocoding *addresses*, not arbitrary locations in the world (though geocoding "Indian Ocean" works). I'm not aware of any countries outside the US that use street intersections as addresses.

Could you tell me more about your use case?
