I'm shepherding the transition of a Doctor's practice. A pretty normal thing happened. What used to be:

Diagnostic Medical Associates of North Texas
3900 West 15th St
Plano Texas

Doctor Agnes Kinra left the practice, and as a result, two new practices were born:

Premier Wellness Internal Medicine
Same address, three of the original doctors: Michelle Sun, Cathy Zavodny,

and

Agnes Kinra, MD, PA
4104 West 15th Street #101

Both practices have owner-verified listings on Google Places.

And when I search for Premier Wellness, I get that Places listing

But when I search for Agnes Kinra, I get some combination of the places listing along with some other data.

Despite having a correct address for Dr. Kinra, the pin on the map points to her *old* place of business.

Stranger still - she originally had several patient reviews - and these disappeared.

Stranger still - she once had an entry in Map Maker - that has disappeared as well.

I think the biggest problem is moving the pin to the correct address. I've done that in Google places, but it is pending verification. Who will do that verification? It would seem to me that it should go to the owner of the listing. Does it go to map maker instead? Either way, I would think I should see the verification requiest.

And second, is the problem here being caused by the fact that there is an archaic listing for Diagnostic Medical Associates N Texas:Agnes Kinra, that I can't seem to get rid of? I tried deleting it, and the reviewers insisted it must be closed. I've tried closing it, and I get no response.

Just one more interesting note about the conflation of the Places entry and the Maps entry.

When I search for Agnes Kinra MD PA, I get the Places entry, but the pin on the map points to her location in Maps - the old entry that I am trying to delete. When I moved the pin, it definitely created a request to move the pin for her old Maps entry.

Whey does a search in Google Maps produce this strange combination of two entries, resulting in a whole that is less correct than either of the originals?

Just to introduce myself, I'm the RER for Texas and live in Plano. :)

Anyways, the reason (at least partially) you still see the listing is because the removal hasn't been approved yet. As far as I know, edits go to Map Maker, where they are reviewed by local editors and/or Google Reviewers. This is the first of two edits you made. I approved that one, but it will require the approval of at least one Google Reviewer.

Regarding your second edit here, since the practice is moving to a new location, a new POI will have to be created instead of the original POI being moved. Please undo that edit.

Once these edits are approved and published, they should propagate to Google Maps soon.

Map Maker just drives me nuts, and this is a perfect example. I have performed two edits to this POI - one to mark it closed, and then a second to move the POI (which was done inadvertently from a google map view.)

You want me to undo the POI move, but when I visit the link, it says there are two edits pending - and it doesn't show me either one. So when I undo, I'm going to  undo the edit that closed the business as well.

When this business was created, I did create a new POI, and somehow it disappeared!

There is no explanation of how to create a POI that is attached to a Google Places entry.

Actually, you only undid the one I asked you to.

A slightly deeper explanation: each edit you make is a separate edit, and has its own separate link. The links you see (Undo and Add Comment) apply specifically to that edit and not all of the edits on there.

The POI you created is here (All edits you've made are in your profile (http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=66&ptab=1&uid=210854795775792067668)). Unfortunately, some bot (including The Cleaner) marked the place you created as a duplicate of the one you are trying to delete. I made an edit to undo the two edits, but it may or may not be fruitful.

All places created in Map Maker have a Places entry. However, you probably won't be able to find this place at this location in Google Maps because it is marked as a duplicate of another feature. Therefore, when you search for this place, this is redirected to the original feature, and you see the original feature instead.
