I apologize if this has been asked and answered elsewhere but I have not been able to get an answer to this question.
I am trying to map a new housing subdivision in my fire department's district. I am wanting to display the property lines and mark the addresses. I initially attempted to do this by drawing a boundary shape and setting the address in its attributes. I was told this was incorrect so I marked the driveway with an address/plot point containing the address information and then drew a nameless boundary shape to display the property lines. I am now being told by reviewers that nameless boundaries are not permitted. What is the best way to do this?

You should place address/plots at the front entrance to each building (not the driveway) if you want to mark addresses.

We do not plot property lines in Map Maker.  You can draw a single boundary around the housing development, use that as a category, and give it a proper name.

I forgot to mention, if plot lines are really important to you, you can make a custom map in "My Places" on Google Maps, or within Google Earth.

But I can see property lines in other places in Google Maps. How are they being added?

Those are provided by the local government authority as GIS files through the partner program.  Google then chooses whether to include them or not.

Ok thanks for the info. Do you know how I could submit such info to Google?

Sure, you can get more info at http://maps.google.com/help/maps/basemap/

Keep in mind, Google must be very careful about copyright.  If you created the files, they can use them; but if you are taking the files from another source then they cannot.
