I'm still perplex about speeds: "Speed changed from “Avg” to “Max” for Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands" - Why is there a difference (until now, well hidden) between countries on that ? Why did you change for these countries, and not for all countries ? In the countries where it still says "Specify the average speed of the road", are we really suppose to do what it is written, or what Moid tells us in this other thread on speeds: "legal speed limit" ??? If the purpose, everywhere, is to compute travel times and best routing, what logic is behind putting "Max Speed" if that speed can never be achieved ???

It seems like I can't get a kml file to load now, when yesterday, using the new interface, it worked properly. I put in the address and click Add, and nothing happens.

Yes we need for Romania to change the speed from avg to max, like in the country posted befor. We decided in our Romanai subforum to mark the max speed (legal speed) in the map (that's the best solution for us).

Speed changed from “Avg” to “Max” for Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands:

Earlier, the countries Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands had their speed attribute displaying “ Avg Speed”. We’ve now changed this to “ Max Speed”.

Thanks for reporting this bug. We will be pushing out a fix shortly. This would have affected the old UI too.

PS: Do let us know if you have other qualms with the new UI.

One thing I liked better in the old UI was the fact that if you search for features in a place, after you edited one and clicking 'save', the search results would show up again. Now two more clicks are required (More -- Search results). Not a deal-breaker, but useful if correcting a bad intersection for example.

As for this update, I support Mr-G in requesting the speed field to be renamed to "Max Speed" in Romania.

Minor UI addressing: the marker icons don't have definite black outlines anymore.

Unlike other icons in Google Maps/Map Maker, I believe the marker icons are supposed to be visible from a glance (they're pinpoints!), not blend into the map in obscurity.

I can't add Overlays anymore. 

Also, when we will be able to remove duplicates? There are a lot of rendering errors because of features marked "duplicates". It's so hard to add a button with "Delete"?

 It's more important to design new icons instead of fixing things that are bothering us for almost a year now?

I have notice a problem with using shift to constrain when drawing shapes. Sometime the line goes in the opposite direction of where my pointer is and when I click to create the point the line even gets drawn in the opposite direction. Have tried in firefox & chrome. don't know if it's just me or if other people are seeing this.

I have noticed that all roads that were marked "enclosed traffic area/parking lot" are no longer showing on Google Maps since this update.  Did something happen with GMM that is making it so they don't show?

Here's an example of what I'm talking about.  Look at the first link, its how it looks in GMM.  The second is how it displays in Google Maps.  None of the roads in the parking lots that were previously showing are there anymore.

I've noticed a problem with intersections on suburban roads not being able to be adjusted because it requires a "Post Code" or a "State".  However, there are no options on the drop boxes to choose from.  This is happening with trails/Terminal roads.

After a road is created, it used to refresh/reappear so you could adjust the intersections if needed, that no longer happens now.

Google Maps uses the internal g.co/maps for its short links. Google Map Maker now uses user generated goo.gl short links instead. Shouldn't they be g.co/gmm links or something like that, so that we know these GMM short links are purely generated by Google?

These two issues I reported are transient.

Don't seem to have the memory leak issue where the browser would slow down forcing a new tab to be opened and the old one closed  (which was nice!). BUT, while working on trails tonight, I've had the screen pause numerous times and the laptop crash twice.  First time, it locked up - no keyboard response.  The second time, I lost the video and was forced to reboot.  No issues with this previously.  Running Win7Ult and using Chrome 17.0.963.56 m.

Had Win 7 updates a few days back, but nothing which caused any issues with GMM.

Not at all excited by icon updates, but it's good to know in the context of wondering why things might look different. :^p

Thank you for changing speed to "max. speed" as average speed makes little sense.

It's cool that Google Maps has a link to "Edit in Map Maker" but why isn't there a link in GMM to "View in Google Maps"? Thinking along those lines, here's something of a challenge for the web heads at Google - in addition to the split screen for GMM and Street View, why can't we have a split screen with GMM at the top and GMaps at the bottom? Also, Google Maps has "Report a Problem" on the viewport - why not in GMM? It's annoying and unproductive to have to be switching back and forth from GMaps to GMMaker all the time. Let us stay in one viewport, please!

I've seen that when reviewing (though my reviews don't count), where you can accept but check-boxes will display to Deny a particular list-item.
