Showing residential buildings, whether single family dwellings,
apartment buildings, or anything similar, whether or not they have
addresses included in the individual features, shows the character of
the area. That is, residential instead on commercial, industrial, or
mixed. It's similar to showing villages without names in otherwise
blank areas.
Can the individual features be searched? Nope. However, showing the
features aids in visualization. To see how this works in practice,
look at USGS topographic maps that show buildings without addresses
out in the woods, useful as waypoints when hiking. Rr consider Google
Maps for the US, which now show land plots in residential areas
without addresses, though not the structures.
Consider also the case where one wants to travel from village to
village in some largely unmapped area. If small villages aren't shown
because they can't be named, then visualizing a route can't be done
using the map and one had to use the overhead imagery.
