Thanks for using Google Map Maker! :-)
Each building has its own number. Each apartment within has a -1, -2, -3 or -4. So the apartment I used to live in was 24-4 Hamlet Court where 24 s the building number and 4 is the apartment number. Hamlet court is the Road its on.
You have not answered my question.
Whether each bldg has independent walls or any wall is shared with another bldg.
In that case , use POI as the main category and ad " Rental listing " as an additional category

Here's what I did for an apartment complex in my area:
I created a boundary using the Apartment Building category, then once that was approved I created child buildings also using the Apartment Building category for each of the buildings in the complex. Finally, I used the Office category for the leasing/management office and attached all the complex details (i.e. website, phone number, etc) to both the office and the boundary objects. GMM didn't seem to have any issues with making an "Apartment Building" building a child of an "Apartment Building" boundary - my only issue was with the Google Reviewer who didn't like my names for the various buildings in the complex (which don't have names or addresses, just numbers used internally by the complex).
Yes, some do
