Google maps shows two roads near each other with the same name. One
of them is incorrect. When one searches for the road by name, he/she
gets the incorrect one. I did not see any way to delete a road on Map
Maker. How can I get this corrected?

Details:
A road named Shore Point Lane is correctly shown at 36°59'32.35"N,
76°39'9.18"W.
Another road of the same name is incorrectly shown at 36°59'38.94"N,
76°39'28.68"W
The road at the incorrect location is an unnamed private driveway.

If you look at the incorrect road and toggle between map and imagery,
you will see that the mapped shape of the road at the incorrect
location does not agree with the imagery at that location but is in
fact the shape of the correct road.

Please tell this Map Maker newbie how I can get this corrected so
that:
1. Only the correct road is shown.
2. Searches for Shore Point Lane will give the correct location.

When this is corrected on Google Maps, will Google Earth automatically
be corrected? If not, how do I go about correcting it there. (On
Google earth, only the incorrect road is shown.)

Thanks so much for your help.

To delete a road, use the Selection tool (2nd button in the Select Panel), click near the road to delete, and in the balloon for the road, click Edit>Delete this.

When you do something here, it will be reflected either immediately or within a few days in Google Maps. Google Earth might take a longer time.

You don't need to delete the road.  Just edit it and remove the name.

Also, rather than posting GPS coords, you can post a link copied from the top right "Link to this page" or "Link" with a chain link next to it.
