google maps can't find my home address?

how the heck do I get google maps to recognize my home address [i.e.]   so delivery people and others can find my home?

Thanks for the help.....already did what you suggested 2 days ago and the address still is not recognized. The instructions say "Please note that the address is not used to show individual houses. Instead it’s used only for routing". Not quite sure what that means? Anyone with any insight as to why I can't find the address when searched for?  Thanks in advance....

Hey getmehome, maybe I can help you out:

-Add the address as an "Address / Plot" feature.

-When you add data to the feature, add ONLY the address itself.  Building number, street name, locality, city, etc. - do not add ANY other information to the listing.  No name, no other data.  Just the address.

Then, when approved, the address will be on the map.

If you link to the edit you have pending, maybe we can take a look and help you fix up the edit.

Hi, Please take a look at the "Best practices" subheading in the second help article provided above. Address/Plots do not appear in search results and they are purely used for routing purposes. Moreover you have entered your home address in the name field. Please note that name filed should be left blank and address should be entered in the appropriate fields given in the left panel while editing.

Hey getmehome, I think we're pretty close to getting you home.  You added a name to the feature in addition to the address.  Just delete the name - names aren't required in Google Map Maker, you can leave it blank.  This is required for Address/Plot features.  It's also common for things like buildings, trails, things like that which sometimes just don't have names.

Thank you....I've gone back in and edited the info correctly. I had to move the marker again because google maps gives erroneous instruction. Hopefully a reviewer can fix this for me.

And as a side note:  Even after this edit gets approved, driving directions to this location will not be effected by this edit for several weeks to a couple of months so keep that in mind.
