I would like to the map to show United Kingdom Counties,

how do I do this?

That is more a question for the Maps forum than the Map Maker forum; but as far as I know there is no direct way to do so.  The information can be extracted via the API, which is what that site would be doing.

The information is displayed in Google Earth, but just with very thin border lines and no shading.

I think you might be right - will try at google maps group,

looks like google earth is the way to go but for a website the visitor has to enable it...

would be cool if there was an option in google maps to see county lines like we can option satelite,
