The residential street that I live on has the address numbers wrong, placing each of the addresses a quarter- to a half-mile away from the actual address locations.  Since I live on the street, I can go so far as to number each house individually, but even fixing which block has which street number range would be a vast improvement.

I have done some searching on Google and in this group, but I might be looking for the wrong keywords, as I cannot find any instructions or others who have had the same issues with a residential street.  I have found many places dealing with setting an address for a business, but I would not (and should not) place individual houses with addresses on the map of course.

I tinkered around with trying to fix the information, but have so far been unable to locate where the editbox is for the street numbers/range.  I can view the range when I click on a street section's pushpin, but it is not editable.  Going into edit mode on the popup opens the ability to specify speed limits, whether there are sidewalks and everything except the address numbers.

Thanks for any help in advance!

What you need to do is put a Address/Plot onto the houses.  It's like regular POI, with with no information other than the address.  Create one just like any other POI; start by hitting Add New -> Add A Place, click to place the marker on the front/main entrance of the place to which you are adding an address, and then when asked to select a category you want to use Address / Plot.  Fill in the address information like you would for any other POI.

You won't necessarily have to do them all; just enough to train Maps as to how addressing in the area works.  But for every one that you put down, the map then knows precisely where that address is located, rather than making estimates.

The address info attached to each street will eventually update as the system figures out new range values.  Be aware that it won't be instantaneous.  This is one of the reasons you will hear people say that you shouldn't delete roads but rather fix them when their are changes; as you lose information such as the address ranges and other hidden information (address ranges were only recently made visible, BTW).

Thank you, Flash! That worked like a charm.  I even looked through that dropdown looking for something to use "House", "Home", "Residence"... I must have tried a good 20 different variations, and the one that I skipped over, "Address" is the most basic search I should have done first!

I've been able to add street numbers now.  Thank you again!
