Hello.

This is to follow up on my earlier post under the same subject ("Edits approved a week ago but still not showing on Google Maps").

My earlier post was posted as a Question and although there were two replies (Thanks, Flash & KD!), they asked for links of what I was referring to, but the page would not allow me to make additional replies--I assume because it was a Question rather than a Discussion.  So I'm opening a new thread as a Discussion.

Here is my issue:

I have submitted two edits so far.

Both were approved by Google reviewers over a week ago (June 11th), and I received an approval email for each one, stating that the edit "had gone live."  However, neither update is currently showing on Google Maps, even a week later.

I can't find anything in the FAQ which addresses this.  (There's an item pertaining to edits which haven't been approved yet, but mine were approved).

Am I missing something??

Here are the links of the two edits I made (both are listed as "published"):

Overview on My Edits page:

http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=55&editids=p7_9WU-aZGrensFULZ&iwloc=0_0&t=h&dtab=overview

I'm not sure how to get individual URLs for the two changes.  Flash stated I should go to My Edits and right-click on each one to get the URL, but when I right-click on the edit there is no URL displayed.  And if I go to Properties, all it shows is www.google.com.

(Note: for the Folly Road entry, I also need to correct it from Paved to unpaved, but was waiting until I could see the road's name-change before pursuing any additional changes).

Thanks very much for any help,

John

I am having the EXACT same issue and in addition, roads that were erroneously put onto a map (meaning they NEVER existed so I had them deleted) they still show up on the map with the erroneous name however I cannot click on the erroneous road because I get a message that the road was deleted.....then why does it show up on Google Maps???  Very frustrating!

That link actually was to the road instead of your profile.

Looking in Maps, I see the road and it is named.  Once I get out to the 6th zoom level, this and other local roads don't have names; the system has to start removing info the more you zoom out or it will get overcrowded.

Sorry, but I cannot figure out how to provide links to the two edits I made.  Nothing seems to work.

The issue is not that the roads were not named; it's that they're named incorrectly.  And it has nothing to do with the zoom level.  I'm talking about what the roads are named when you get down to whatever level allows them to be seen.  In one case the road is named correctly for one portion, then incorrectly for another portion.  In the other case, the road is completely misnamed from one end to the other.

I submitted corrections on 6/11.  Both corrections were approved.

Here's what one of them says (problem ID 9D85-7AAC-68B4-C893):

"Your change has been approved by Google Reviewer Jess A, a trusted reviewer and has gone live."

And here's what the other one says (problem ID 4814-9C46-BC9D-14D8):

"Your changehas been approved by Google Reviewer Colin, a trusted reviewer and has gone live"

It's been over a week, and NEITHER ONE is showing correctly yet on Google Maps.

Thanks,
John

I think the issue is that you are going segment by segment, and sometimes you then do not see an overall road name.  Use the segment selection tool to select from one end of the desired road to the other; don't restrict yourself to just segments that are incorrectly named.  When you are in the name section, select "Remove from all" for all names, even the correct one.  Then in the box below where you can add a name, type in the correct name with the flags of Local and Primary.  That should reset the entire road, and make sure it has the correct flags.

Flash, I'm not so sure that is the issue.

For the 2nd example I gave, it DID involve the entire segment of the road from one end to the other.  (Folly Road being listed erroneously as Sandy Beach Road and Peaked Mountain Road).

Regardless, in each case I submitted a correction which was APPROVED and listed as PUBLISHED.

So, WHY ARE THE CHANGES NOT VISIBLE???

Thanks.

I've actually had the same exact problem for multiple updates. The changes that I make on MapMaker that are completely new entities actually show on Google Maps. However, when I make changes that are approved to existing features, they say they become published but never do. In fact, I have gone back into MapMaker to a couple of the places I did edit and my edits aren't even applied. I see my changes in the history, but only after I click "After Changes."

This has become frustrating and discouraging in using MapMaker.

to General Map Maker

I have noticed lately that a lot of my road edits are not rendering in Maps correctly.  Take this for example, http://goo.gl/maps/hdyW this intersection is all messed up now.   Even in map maker http://goo.gl/gIzye the roads are all messed up.  So there is definitely something wrong with the rendering engine with the maps for it to be messed up in both places.
