Gul

In my opinion, I think you can enter Point of Interest - with Category Internet (/Internet Cafe)

And Name it WiFi.

Yes, for the moment it can be done as Nazar suggested. However, you can also vote this issue to create new category at http://code.google.com/p/google-mapmaker/issues/detail?id=31

If memory serves me right, there was a big to-do about privacy and Google Street View collecting wi-fi information. Not sure if the same logic applies to user-generated data, but for what it's worth, I'm sure they'd be disinclined to have this issue come up again.

I guess pointing out Wifi spot should be ok. What Google's Street View car was collecting, that included the private information about Wifi (SSID) etc and then more private stuff like passwords by going through Wifi etc.

UPDATE:  I saw an answer to this, I think in 'answers.google.com' that suggested the WiFi spot be named WiFi - (telecom provider).  An example using a local restaurant is WiFi - Deer Creek Diner.

At the nearby mall, another marker would probably be "WiFi - Panera Bread".

Yes/No?  If my interpretation is incorrect, please attribute it to my being a newbie..
