Anyone can become a volunteer MapMaker moderator. In fact, once you sign up for MapMaker you have directly moderator ability.

For a paid job as Google Reviewer I think it is better to surf to http://www.google.com/intl/en/jobs/index.html and file an application.

Hi, I've been working on other map related projects, adding details to maps and correcting mistakes. I'd like to improve google maps too, is there anyway i can become a free reviewer so that I don't need my changes to be approved by some else? Probably some reputation system?

After a certain number of your edits have been approved and published,
your credibility or reputation gets improved. After some time any
edits that you add to GMM automatically get published without
requiring the approval of a reviewer or moderator. Google does not
divulge the exact details or the method in which your credibility is
updated. Hence, keep putting up good updates and soon your updates
will start going online directly. So keep mapping :)

That's why some of my posts are updated directly sometimes, and I was
wandering that your server might giving some error :) This is great..
What is the rating system? After how many edit? and Still I get some
pending request, and why?

Thanks you... I love mapping

AshRJ, Umbraro, thanks for the helpful responses.

Mel and Co, glad you love mapping!  You came to the right place :)

Gabriel, Map Maker does indeed leverage a reputation system, designed to protect the integrity of the maps while letting experienced and skilled mappers' edits go live more quickly.  Best way to get more trust is to make an increasing number of accurate edits over time.

Well, from what i understand, when you have added a certain number of good edits, of a specific category, then any further edits that you add, of that specific category, get published directly. Hence, while certain edits of yours may be going directly online, there will be others which may still require review. Also, i think that edits in on near certain locations of symbolic/religious/political importance require review irrespective of your credibility in the system. This last thought may be incorrect but well, if there are not safeguards prevent spam especially with respect to such locations, then there certainly should be.

Even i love mapping but it gets pretty irritating when you encounter certain errors about which you cant find or get any help.

Hola a todos.

También he sentido la misma inquietud, quisiera saber como ser
moderador de Google Map y cuales son los criterios. Agradezco si
alguien pudiera aclararme la duda.
