Hi All,

Just noticed that some imagery updating is going on Google Earth. It more looks like night views at the moment and not very very clear not even to a scale of 100m. Also software doesn't dhow the imagery date as it does for the rest of old imagery at the bottom information bar. But I think we are nearly to get some new imagery. Any body else have any news?

Cheers

Very much so.

I have noticed new Tiles in Baluchistan, Punjab & elsewhere.

Thanks. GMM.

There is another phenomenon that I like to share. Some Tiles look like
poor resolution Tiles but they are Not.

Any Tile that looks like a `Poor Resolution Tile' but you can see a
clear thin Road line, it is a Good Tile. Just keep closing in.

Many such examples are there in Baluchistan. (Kharan - for example)

NHK you are referring to imagery on map maker?

Jabran i think is referring to new imagery on google earth which acts
as the primary dataset of images.

btw, new 2.5m imagery from SPOT is available Pakistan wide in google
earth....so many places which had ancient ultra low res imagery are
now visible...eg. sheikhupura faisalabad road area...
This areas should be a priority for GMM and first thing to do would be
to get rid of the oldest and lowest res imagery on map maker and
replace it with SPOT imagery. so rural areas on map maker can be
mapped better and updated. Next step would be to deal with alignment
issues with latest imagery in urban areas like islamabad etc.

Attached is the image I'm talking about. Its Hafizabad, i took for an example. It is actually the new imagery from Spot (Pointed with rectangles) but its not that clear. The elevation shown in this image is kind of limit but still going bit further down its alright. But the zoom we need in MM is not this. I think this thing is still in process and has not been finalised yet that's why it is showing like that.  But its just an assumption!
