When a Google reviewer says that an edit does not meet the guidelines, he or she ought to be more specific about what the problem is.

In this case, I don't understand why the edit was rejected. I subsequently corrected the position of the feature. Perhaps that was the problem, but the reviewer ought to have explained what was wrong with the edit.

It hasn't been denied yet, it's only the generic comment they are leaving now, it won't be denied until 7 days later.  I agree it's a completely useless comment, as it gives no indication as to what is wrong with the edit.  The problem is it's a duplicate, there's already a POI for that business here.

Also, the rejection only occurs if you ignore the edit for 7 days, that auto-denial feature was designed to handle the people that never come back.  If you respond to the comment with something along the lines of "Can you let me know what's wrong?", that stops the auto-denial.

Nigel,
Just FYI, the issue of generic comments from GRs has been raised at many levels with Google. It is an issue that they are trying to deal with, but there are no promises or guarantees what, if anything, might change. Don't hesitate to respond to these kind of comments with what Flash suggested - ask THEM for more detailed info.
