Disconnecting road from an intersection

What is the best way of disconnecting a road from an intersection.   I am trying to disconnect the northern end of this road from the road it is incorrectly shown as connecting to.    The segment editor does not seem to accomplish this.

There is no way to do this that I know of, other than deleting the road and re-creating it so that it does not intersect the other.

Your best bet would probably be to delete that segment and recreate it without having it intersect the road. I don't know if deleting the intersection would work, as everytime I tried to delete an intersection, an error came up saying that the deadends of roads or intersection with unusual shapes cannot be deleted (but you can try).

Thanks for the feedback.   In the OSM editor, it seems so easy to remove a problem intersection or split a road into two segments...I would have assumed it would be easier.   I'll attempt to update through the "delete first" method.

Here is another idea: use the segment select to highlight the corner, then choose edit route associations and remove the road that does not connect. I can't confirm that I have done this but if I understand it correctly that may solve your problem.

This would remove a road name, not an intersection.
