I am trying to map out the buildings on our campus. However, the actual name of our university is incorrect but I cannot edit it. The marker shows it correctly but the label on the map shows it incorrectly. How do I fix that? I've attached a screen shot that shows the label I'm talking about.

Can you provide a link to the feature?

To link directly to a place, bring up its details in your sidebar, then right-click the Link to this page icon in the upper-right corner of the map area (it looks like a couple of chain links) and select "Copy Link Location" (or whatever your browser calls it).  Paste that link in your post so we can find it.

You'll notice that the location as it appears on the left is correct "Northern State University". However, the label on the map shows Northern State College. We changed our name over 20 years ago. Thanks!

Interesting.  It looks like the University's detail page is tied to the boundary in Map Maker, but Map Maker shows the College name instead of University.

At any rate, I've updated the feature in Map Maker here with what I hope is good information.  Once that gets approved the label on Google Maps should update.  It can take quite some time (read: months) for labels to re-render, so you'll need to be patient, but it will go through eventually.

Note, I did leave the college name on there, but I marked it "Obscure."  This keeps it there and searchable for historic purposes.  Google really doesn't like deleting names that were valid (even if it was a long time ago).

And, it's been published.  Give it some time to propagate to Google Maps, as I mentioned.
