Hi Nabahat,
Really appreciate but one unexpected edit have popped in :-

     - Primary name of "Sri Koteshwarnath temple' needs to be changed to "Koteshwarnath Temple". "Sri' is not attached to name of Lord Shiva.

I have made the changes and the link for approval are :-

We always add Shree or Shri before name of God/Temple/Elders. Its very simple to understand.

Thanks for spotting. But looks good now. A few more links for approvals ( for one of the most remote part of country - Looks like I would need to spent some time ).

An important road that connect many remote rural village and rural roads to National highway.

A newly constructed rural road ( not with the latest satellite maps but I will updated once google update it).

These rivers have been named :-

Hi Vishal,

Thanks for your review. Your comments were useful. I have Undone the edit and now trying to re-submit it but there error says - An intersection needed by your request needs approval, please try later.

Perhaps, this intersection ( http://goo.gl/ucyjo ) needs approval. May be we could just delete this edit ( intersection..auto-created by system) and bring intersection closer to the actual intersection.

Cheers,
Gaurav Kishore

Hi Gaurav,

I would like to ask you some details, about your three edits named:
  1. Pai Bigha
  2. Pai Bigha Dih
  3. Chatar

What are these? Because it seems like you confused, as 10 hours ago now you mark village 'Pai Bigha' and after 5 hours you marked it as duplicate.
More info about these village or locality or sub-locality whatever they are will be good and after that we will be able to approve it.

Thanks.

Hi Nabhat,
Appreciate your queries. My replies in-line :-
I hope this helps. The problem is that the area is very poorly marked which is very obvious as there are a few villages in the locality where electricity and roads have reached recently!!

Hi Gaurav,

I would like to ask you some details, about your three edits named:
  1. Pai Bigha -  P.O- PAI BIGHA, P.S- BELAGANJ, DIST- GAYA. (BIHAR) - 804424 - from Bihar Govt website
  2. Pai Bigha Dih - is a small village east of Pai Bigha . ( if required, happy to pull out some official references)
  3. Chatar - official listing - http://slbc.bih.nic.in/Villages.asp?D=Jehanabad

What are these? Because it seems like you confused, as 10 hours ago now you mark village 'Pai Bigha' and after 5 hours you marked it as duplicate -> On a particular zoom level I was not able to see 'Pai Bigha' and thus added a new listing ( with boundaries). However, later I saw that  'Pai Bigha'  is already there.

More info about these village or locality or sub-locality whatever they are will be good and after that we will be able to approve it.

Official reference of the area :- http://gaya.bih.nic.in/     ; On right side of the website; District -> Gaya which has 4 sub-divisions. The area I am working on falls under "Sadar" sub-division with Beleganj as block. Under Belaganj, there panchayats like - Pai Bigha etc.

Thanks.

Hi Gaurav,

Kindly take a look to all Official data on Govt. Websites here:

List of all Districts of Bihar:
http://gov.bih.nic.in/Sites.htm

Gaya district Website:
http://gov.bih.nic.in/Profile/Districts/Gaya.htm
http://gaya.bih.nic.in/images/gayamap.JPG (Map)

Jehanabad District Website:
http://gov.bih.nic.in/Profile/Districts/Jehanabad.htm
http://jehanabad.bih.nic.in/pdf/Map/pc_map/pc-36.pdf (Map)

Your three village listings are denied, as  they are not appropriate.

I hope you understand. Kindly add place you are very sure. In my knowledge there is no "Pai Bigha Dih" named village and Chatar is not there where you marked. And you are not also sure of "Pai Bigha".

Regards.

Hi Nabahat,

Totally understand. In fact, I appreciate your due diligence committed to the accuracy standards of Google map makers community. However, I just want to make sure that we try our best to map remote villages of underdeveloped regions for where minimum level of official data is available.

As per my understanding, any village in India is divided as per :-

 Country -> State -> District -> Block -> Villages.

The link you have provided below does cover up to Block level but even is not sufficient to out-rightly refute the existence of such villages.I also understand the Bihar Government is involved in geo-sensing mapping of the state.

Good news is that I have located a national website / Geographical Information System which could be useful in such scenarios. There are loads of KML files as well.
So far only 4-5 states have been covered on GIS system ( fortunately Bihar is one of them).

The website address is http://gis.bih.nic.in/giselection.html

I am also taking a look across the website which also may be useful for Google map maker community.( and also I have located Chatar village on the GIS :-) )

Gaurav Kishore

That is a excellent site for perfect info on Bihar mapping.

These KMLs will help mapping a lot for entire Bihar state:
http://gis.bih.nic.in/KMLService.aspx

As you said you 'located Chatar village on the GIS' so it's completely different in boundaries previously you marked. Now we can map with official data now more perfectly.
Put things on map bro will approve.

Thanks a lot for this info. :) :)

Keep mapping.

Sorry to interrupt, I have to say something, boundaries are marked by them are only rough sketches, no one can deny that, so we should not trust on boundaries, no one can mark boundaries accurately of borders, if it is possible, that will be very long process, it will take hundreds of years to complete that, I don’t think so they will be able to do that, for this they need local patwaries who will mark boundaries of states, tehsil etc. ;). About KML files, who make them people like us, They are also a human, they can’t mark each & everything correctly, one wrong entry of Longitude & Latitude can make huge difference, we should not trust on that with blind eyes, they are helpful, but……………., before approval we should check each & everything properly. Thanks!

Hi Vishal,

Yes, you are right, but three of Gaurav's edits are not denied by just due to boundaries.
As I explain earlier . . . . He wasn't sure of his 1st edit, 2nd one doesn't exist and 3rd one was not on right place and boundaries were just a square(that is just no possible in India at-least :P) that was the reason for denial.

But we can't point a finger on officials these days bro, they can put us in jail these days. hahahaha. (Don't mind . . Just kidding.)

I'm 100% agree with you bro but I never deny anything without reason.

Keep Mapping.

Regards.

So experts , please advise. With offical kml files available on web, how can I contribute. Would it be like:-

1. I view the kml files on Panoramio.
2. Use the manage overlay option
3. Come back to you for approval?   ( If yes, then would you expect to vouch for accurancy of offical kml files?  or shall I provide you kml files of area I am familiar with).

Do we also need to check about copyright / distribution act of Govt of India while using those kml files?

Regards,
Gaurav
