Aroha mai whanau - just realised I'd jumped the gun and hadn't started
with a small welcome or open an opportunity to introduce ourselves. Be
a good time to say a little something about ourselves, maybe where we
are from, why we're interested in this project and what we bring to
the table.

Nga mihi nui ki a koe, ko Potaua au. No Ngai Tuhoe, me Ngati Pikiao,
me Ngati Kahungunu, me Te Whanau a Apanui au.

I'm currently based in Wellington with my whanau, I work at the
Waitangi Tribunal but am moving back to Rotorua so we can be closer to
whanau, I'll be working at Te Wanaga o Aotearoa. Nikolasa (my wife)
and I run TangataWhenua.com and were really interested in the idea of
a Google Maori. After the success of the Microsoft Maori Language
Interface Pack we felt it was only appropriate that we find out if
there are others who would like to see the world's largest search
engine available ki roto i te reo Maori. Kaaa pai!

Ka mihi nui ki a koutou katoa

No Nikolasa Biasiny-Tule toku ingoa.
Ko Potaua toku hoa rangatira.
Ko Atutahi toku tama.
Ko Holland te kainga o toku Mama.
Ko Puerto Rico te kainga o toku Papa.
Kei Aotearoa taku kainga, engari kei Aotearoa taku kainga anaianei.
No reira, kia ora tatou katoa.

Hola amigos y amigas!
I'm really looking forward to this project, thanks to each of you for
expressing your interest. I currently am a full time mum and am
attempting to complete my PhD in Education (looking at digital culture
as it manifests in virtual academic spaces). I also work fulltime for
TangataWhenua.com (on the tech side of things).

Looking foward to helping in any way that I can (obviously the
translation side of things will be out for me, but I'm keen on dealing
with any administration and tech/IT issues that no doubt will arise.
Kia ora whanau!

Kia ora kōrua,

So glad to catch up with you guys tangata whēnua.com is great. I've
just taken redundancy with TVNZ and having a short break before I
decide what I want to do nextt. I'm from Kawhia but currently based
in Auckland. I'm involved with te reo at a number of levels and also
believe in the philosophy of attracting rangatahi and non-speakers
towards the language whether it be via chatrooms, bebo, u-tube in fact
on all virtual spaces. My background is television but will help with
te reo wherever it's required so yell out if I can be of any help.
I'm easier reached at: hedw...@ihug.co.nz

Kia Ora kotou,

Ko Pikiora ahau
ko Ngapuhi te iwi
he Digital native ahau.

Love the idea behind this group and want to contribute in any way I
can. :)
Currently I work in libraries and have for many years and Im striving
to improve my Reo which is at the moment slightly wobbly :P I have
been working for the last few years in Research but have just moved
focus to the libraries Digital space, which is a really exciting and
absolutely my passion.
I have been online for many years and involved in online communities,
particularly gaming communities for many years as well (nearly
10! :o)
I guess having been in online communities and being Maori, and a
librarian, I hope I'll have something to contribute to this group.
hehe. If not thats a worry!

Anyway, Kia Ora to all out there :D if I can help just let me
know! :D

Kia Ora Hone, I think we may have met I remember getting given a card
from someone called Hone from TVNZ a few months back :D :)

Nga Mihi,
