Google Earth not available in Google repository

Why Google does not provide the free version of Google Earth in its
repository?

Google Earth packages are now available from the Earth download page:
http://www.google.com/earth/

Installing these packages will automatically configure the new Google
Earth Linux repositories. Please send any feedback on these packages
through the normal Google Earth help channels:
http://www.google.com/earth/help/
