Hi,

I wanted to install Google Desktop. Seems like it is not in the repos.

I tried aptitude search google
and aptitude search google-desktop

Is it not there because there has not been any recent release of it?

It looks like there may be a licensing issue. Look in synaptics
(Ubuntu 9.04) for 'google'. You may find all of the gadgets from
desktop you need.
You can always get it here:
http://desktop.google.com/en/linux/download.html

Using Ubuntu?
I am and was able to find Google desktop in the synaptic package
manager. selected it for install and all else was automated.
