Viewing movies at the website?

What good is being able to upload movies if nobody can see them?

install vlc and the firefox "vlc multimedia plug-in".

1. Tried vlc 1.0.something previously; requires newer major libraries
than I have. 2. Couldn't find the FF plugin. #1 is a real killer and
I'm not willing to go on a library hunt. BTDT, got the scars.

Yeah, tell me something I don't know! I've been married to him for 49.5
years and it's going to take more than his religious belief in the
sinfulness of GUIs and their evil spawn to make me dump him!

much more user friendly which is why they are so much more prevalent.
Either ask him to spend the time to allow your machine to function
perfectly (which my ubuntu, fbsd, and other *nix function great for my
needs and requirements) or to help you install an OS that you can
adequately use without being crippled by your expertise. Best off

Lol...Don't dump him. Make your life simple and go buy a windblows
operating system. The reality is that the windows and mac OSes are
much more user friendly which is why they are so much more prevalent.
Either ask him to spend the time to allow your machine to function
perfectly (which my ubuntu, fbsd, and other *nix function great for my
needs and requirements) or to help you install an OS that you can
adequately use without being crippled by your expertise. Best off

Merci bien. For a while I was using slack with KDE on my laptop, which
definitely makes life a lot easier. And then it crashed... I use
fvwm95 and have spent a lot of time configuring it -- I could switch to
KDE, but I hate having to configure stuff from scratch, and KDE is just
plain ugly in its normal state.
If absolutely necessary I have an HP XP machine available. It has great
sentimental value, having belonged to my mom. I use it when I have
hardware that absolutely requires windows to function -- GPS, canon
scanner, tax stuff, maybe phone stuff (if I decide to switch to the
Nokia wifi-enabled phone). My linux machine knows about the windows
machine, but I keep the windows machine ignorant of the existence of the
other machines on the network. It's safer that way.
For the most part, if I can't solve a problem myself or through the
kindness of strangers, I give up; life is too short etc.
BTW, the 'movies' I was trying to view were not movies at all, just
stills FROM the movies. When I found the actual videos (in the 'photos'
part) they worked fine.
