Printer Resolution stuck on 1200 dpi

I'm using Picasa under Ubuntu Linux. The printer resolution always
comes up on 1200 dpi. I've tried compatibility mode under Tools |
Options | Printer but it doesn't change. My CUPS printer resolution is
set to 300 dpi. Any ideas on how to get Picasa to pick up the settings
from CUPS or otherwise change the resolution?
