Editing in WordPress

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
(1) I have C&P an article into Wordpress and I have removed all the
codes and edited the article. Spent hours editing using the formats
available. All looked fine.
(2) Went to Edit view and all was as I left it.
(3) Went to View and the post had reverted to its original, as though
it was never edited.

Frustrating, can't find a solution even though I have searched their
help forums.

Dear Elle

Wordpress is a tricky site. Take a trial paragraph and do all experiments. Have patience as people can see your article on Knol till end April 2012. So you will master the wordpress definitely in some more time.

Do not miss the UPDATE button on the right. It has (I think) the
SAVE function. Without it sometimes autosaves, sometimes not.

PetrF, Thank you. I have not overlooked the "Update" Button. but I
cannot upgrade the original post to the newly updated post to appear
on the screen. I have written to Wordpost Help and I await an answer.

PetrF, my account had been hacked into and I have had to make some
adjustments to be able to post again.
I had received a reply from WordPress Help who suggested that if I
have had trouble with the "Update" I should try to clear my "Cache and
Cookies."
I clear my "cache" and tried the "update" again and this time it
worked. I hope this information will be useful to some of you.
