Hi everybody,
I run a magazine in Canada called The Hindi Chetna. To type hindi, I
use the Google Hindic Translation tool. (Used to use the Unicode font
ST-01, if you've heard, but it took to long to type with a standard
keyboard) I copy and paste the hindi into Adobe InDesign and it works
perfectly.
The problem I am having is this: my writers usually send me Word docs
written in the hindi typeface "Mangal". When i copy and paste this
into Adobe InDesign, Mangal messes up. Although it does work, and
hindi characters do show up, they get horribly "out of sync", if i
may. The matras get confused, not to mention the grammer problems and
tense confusing. It's a big mess.
Is there anyway to place the Mangal typeface in InDesign without it
messing up?
