[Urgent] signupNewUser response suddenly changed

Hi Team

We noticed that the response of "identitytoolkit.relyingparty.signupNewUser" has been suddenly changed. It has been happening since 4th of Nov gradually and now seems like completely changed. The change seems authentication token is not returned.

Could you tell us if this change is official one or unexpected one? If official, let us know what's the changes and how we can cope with it. This is a serious problem for us as we still don't migrate to Firebase. FYI, we are using this function since this May.

Hi Masashi,

Thanks a lot for the feedback. One quickest workaround is that calling verifyPassword right after signupNewUser to get the token. We can make backend change to fix it temporarily but it still needs time to become effective in production, so I think make an additional verifyPassword api call at your side is the best solution currently.

Hi Masa,

Thanks for using Google Identity Toolkit, but please note that the signupNewUser(), although appears in the Google API library, is not documented in Google Identity Toolkit APIs. Can you elaborate your use case, to see whether you could use Firebase Authentication?

We used to use "updateAccoutInfo" to register new user, but we found that this was also deactivated. We found "signupNewUser" from API explorer and worked fine.

That's the reason why we use it. We just want to register a new user from server side. We are planning to migrate to Firebase by the end of this year, so it would be great if you give us an instruction for this.
