do you have more detailed info, for example, the 400 http response? or do you have a public accessible website we can check to identify the problem?

If you check your console. It's probably ignoring your Developerkey and saying that you need to sign up to use the service.  I am having the same problem.

Do you include https://apis.google.com/js/client.js in your page? Could you share your code snippet that calls Gitkit or the address of your website?
