Apologies if I'm adding to the problem with this message but I wasn't sure where else to post. Is anyone else getting a bunch of spam from this user group's digest emails and is the anything that can be done to alleviate the problem? I'd like to keep tabs on guice developments but the spam has me considering unsubscribing.

I haven't seen [much] spam coming through.  Every so often one makes it through and I (if I remember) ban the sender and delete the message from the list.

According to https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!forum/google-guice there was a spam email on Dec 17 that I missed.  I don't remember really seeing much else though.

How much spam are you seeing?  Are you sure it's from the Guice list?

I'm not sure if it was the same message delivered over and over but in just about every digest e-mail I received in December (~10) there was a spam message in it. I've attached some screenshots to show you what it looks like on my end. I've been subscribed to the user group for a while without seeing these types of spam messages but who knows maybe something has changed on my end.

I've seen several spams the past two weeks. Can't remember if they were all in this group or possibly also in Guava. As soon as I see one I try to report it as spam (can't do that on mobile though).
Note: I follow the group on the web, not by mail; so u don't have the additional layer of gmail spam detection.

Interesting. A lot of spam gets sent to the group but groups holds it back under a 'spam' section. There may be something wrong with the digest mails, and/or the groups interface may take a bit to discover it's spam.   I'll bring it up with the Groups team on Monday and see what's going on.

Does anyone other than Thomas (using the groups interface) and Matthew (using digest emails) see spam?  If so, how are you subscribed to the list?

I'm subscribed to the list and get a mail for every post made (no diegests). I've also seen more spam recently. I count 14 entries to the guice list in my spam folder for December. All seem to come from the same source as they all look very similar.
I can poste one of the messages if this helps.

Also subscribed via web and its like Thomas said. The last few weeks the same type/style of spam message showed up in different groups, not just google-guice. Currently the web interface shows that type of spam also in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/google-plugin-eclipse for example as it hasn't been deleted yet.

There's currently a spam article above this one in the web UI: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-guice/sgkX-0FUj5g

I see them pretty often (almost once a day), and I always report them.

Guess GMail is filtering them for me so I don't notice.  Thanks Tavian, I'll ask the groups folks if something's off with their slam handling.
