We are receiving messages from a sender, and Google Groups is marking it as Spam, sending them to the Moderation queue.

However, Google Groups ignores "Post and always allow future messages from author", since messages from this sender keeps piling up at the moderation queue...

Assistance is appreciated.

Same issue. One person/email address keeps getting kicked into "Pending" even though I keep selecting "Post and always allow...".

Same issue ... ugh. Plus the moderator's spam report only comes out on Tuesdays and Fridays. Lousy combination when urgent messages get flagged as spam and no one knows that they weren't delivered.

Did the Moderator Spam report always come up only on Tuesdays and Fridays? My emails aren't going through anymore.

Same. I own the group. It always puts *my* own messages in pending. And then it asks me--freaking days later--to approve my own messages. This sucks.

This is still a MAJOR issue 5 years later. Why is google ignoring this?

it turns out the email address of the 'author', in my case, had a notoriously weird email history.

the subscribed email address was actually an address that was forwarded-to from another email address, and their local email client was pulling mail from multiple addresses.

it's quite likely that the address attached to the email from the email client was not the same as the subscribed address, which might explain why the email messages were allowed into the closed group but didn't match the 'allow in future' directive, or something like that.

just thought i'd add that - maybe check with the sender to see if they have any funny business going on with how they send email or use multiple email addresses.

7.5 years later ... still unresolved.

I receive security alerts daily and, at least once a week, these alert emails go into pending, despite me allowing the email. The email is even from an .edu address, too. Make's it a pain, because the emails arrive on a different date if I don't notice the missing email. I've looked at the wrong alerts before because the emails arrive out of order. Just a big hassle. Moving to Microsoft soon.

+1 for this problem, and +n for the annoyance.

A note to Google:

Having emails fail to get sent to a group and instead end up in a moderator folder can have some serious financial consequences for a business. I'm probably not alone in saying I don't need all the constant new looks and fizz, I just need the basics to work.

If I add an email address to a group and flag it as unmoderated, regardless of whether your engine thinks it might have been used for Spam in the past, then it means I don't want your engine to moderate those emails. It might not be as cool to code for your engineers, but that's customer centricity.

Did anyone try adding the sender's email address or domain in Google Admin Spam filtering as an allowed Sender, would this apply to Groups ?
Also did anyone try reducing to the Group's Spam Message Handling setting to: 'Post suspicious messages to a Group'

Some References for visibnility:

I don't have an option for 'Post suspicious messages to a Group' under "Spam Message Handling":

I have been fighting this same issue every year. Our messages being held up are actually coming from our domain name to a group with the same domain name.  And they all have been checked to allow future posting. The odd thing for us, is that it only occures in the spring time, like now.  All year the same people send messages to the parent group, then around February things start being held.  Google I feel you are agian violating your own motto: Don't do Evil! FIX THIS
