Google Friendly Web Page Design

What constitutes a Google friendly web page? www.google.com/webmasters provides a great guide to the overall design. One glaringly overlooked (though mentioned) component is the HTML itself. That one component, properly used is immensely valuable! The forum focus is better design with "good HTML".
