It would help me out greatly if you added a feature to sort by free
cash flow divided by market cap. This is the
(golden ratio) that stocks are priced and measured by. Because the
greater the cash flow the more dividends
and share buybacks the company can do. I would also like to be able to
sort by the stocks that are buying back
the most shares (percentages). Both the share buy backs and the free
cash flow should be done by ratios.

The way the cash per share is done tells me nothing. If a company has
$5 cash per share means nothing if the stock
is selling for $200. But if the company has $5 per share and the stock
is selling for $20, that's a good deal. However what
I am really looking for is a the ratio and percentage of cash. Again
using ratios would greatly help.

Finally, I think that the GoogleFinance function in Google spreadsheet
is GREAT!
I would just like to see it expanded even more. If I could get numbers
off of the balance sheet, income statement, and
the cash flow statement, I could come up with limitless ratios to
compare between companies. I wouldn't really even
need to use the stockscreener. I wouldn't be limited to the metrics
that are on the stockscreener because I could make my own
using Google spreadsheet. Something like
GoogleFinance_BalSheet("GOOG","CashEqv"); would return the cash and
cash equivalents
from the balance sheet. And this could be done for every column on the
balance sheet and also Income Statement and Cash Flow statement.

Many companies charge money for a database of these quantitative
figures that I am trying to get. I have seen as much as $800. I
already think that
Google has a great stock screener and has integrated the spreadsheet
well with the financial information it has. But by adding these
features this
will help level the playing field for the small investor (like me) to
compete with much larger firms. (I plan to start a hedge fund someday
and I choose
gmail because of the ability to share documents and Google Finance,
which is superior to every other stock website I have seen.) I already
like how
spreadsheet is integrated with Google Finance, but with some additions
it would be of even greater value to me.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your kind words, and for your feature suggestions!

Are you saying you'd like to see this integrated in the Stock
Screener, or somewhere else on the site?

Yeah, if it was integrated to where I could pull the Balance Sheet,
Income, and Cash Flow statements
onto Google Spreadsheet,
I'm saying that I wouldn't even need the stock screener because I
would use Google Spreadsheet
and have my own personalized stock screener, where I could create my
own personalized metrics to screen by.

Really good suggestion.

Chris, any strong companies that you would recommend owning?
