how to add oil gold or commodities to portfolio to track them

i'd like to show the price of oil in my portfolio. I've searched and
someone said to track the spiders, such as USO - however, this isn't
the actual price/barrels for oil (US crude is fine) as it trades on
the NYMSE. same for commodities such as gold...

is there a symbol to show/add these in google finance? if not, i'd
like to request this functionality.
