follow a few stocks and have been noticing that (sometimes) relevant
discussion is turning into spam from various "stock alert" / "stock
trading programs that will make you rich" websites. Is Google doing
anything to reclaim this space and restore it to communication between
people?

There is a good example of what sorts of "spam" I am talking about.
This, I'm sure, is a complex issue that must be explored as far as who
can/can't post to these essentially free spaces, but is Google
beginning to take actions toward restoring discussion of stocks in
lieu of blatant advertisement - maybe even restoring it to subtle
advertisement by companies offering, to some, meaningful data?
Update:
* have since moved to google finance section. I initially posted this
in the web site section and have since moved it here based on an
individual's response/reccomendation. A great idea would be Google
doing the following:
1) Making site improvement forums more widely used by making them
accessible and promoting them in a very organic way. In the sense
that it is stressed that the goal is to increase efficency.
2) Creating a system that organizes forum topics into the most
relevant category. Making the data meaningful and searchable.
