Alternative design for condensed menu bar (when scrolling down)

When scrolling down on Google+ pages, the Google bar, search box, profile photo, and circles disappear in favor of the condensed menu bar. Currently it looks like this:

It looks ok, but I would prefer the condensed menu bar just looking the same during scrolling, as when in the top of a page. Like this:

I find the sudden change in appearance unnecessary and disturbing. Just keep it simple:-)
