HI,

I have downloaded the search-as-you-type module and trying to get it
working with our GSA. What I am finding after looking at this module
is, it just helps on client side presentation for auto populate by
providing .js and .css file etc. Coming to the real data part, the
sample php code provided as part of this module just helps in pulling
the content from test-data.txt. What if we want to pull the data from
the GSA index itself ? Do we need to write our component to talk to
GSA and gets the results ?or Does GSA provide out of box to respond to
ajax search-as-you-type requests?
Has any one used this module with GSA ? or has one achieved the search
as you type functionlity with GSA through alternative mechanisms ?

Just little confusion. I appreciate if any one can clarify this for
me ?

Thanks,
Srini.

Hi!

Yes, you need to write your own component to retrive data from GSA to
use in the SAYT. I'm in the middle of developing a system that
searches as you type in the most popular searches.

This is not my discussion. I am working with the 'search as you type
question' discussion.

Excellent ;-)

I made a PHP class to generate and save xml - reports with most
popular searches.

Transformed it to fit the sayt-format. Works great.

I have also made a different system where I use a database.
