I have been asked to use the search-as-you-type code offered by google
on a page or site that is built in jsp. I am attempting to rebuild the
functions that exist in the given php file but not doing a very good
job so far.

Has anyone else done this already and have any code I might use to get
me started?

I suppose a javabean or applet might also do the trick.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

I'm working on a similar project. I was thinking about writing a Java
servlet that could replace the "search-responder.php" file.

I'm not a developer (anymore ;), but we have implemented this same
idea on the GSA using a Yahoo library (http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/
docs/AutoComplete.js.html). We were looking for an entirely client
side solution to help avod performance issues. Also, I think our
orginial idea for a servlet presented some issues with the 'Narrow
Your Search' feature (if you have that turned on). If you're
interested, I might be able to get the additional js code that our
developer wrote to get this thing implemented.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Traci,

I have a javascript solution, but I'm required to pull data from a DB
using either a Java servlet or *.JSP. I just keep working on the Java
solution.
