Can I migrate from a pst file rather than a supported e-mail client?
If so, how?

You'd need to convert from pst to mbox format, then import the mbox folder.

On Windows, there is a separate Outlook migration app:

Howard: I thought it was freezing too, but it takes a long time to
sort through all the available mbox files and then to import and just
looks like its freezing. This was my experience the first time around
too. I'd suggest waiting several minutes through the "freeze."

When I say freeze I mean several hours. . . maybe I have attachments that are too big. . . although I have bought extra space. I have 33000 to upload

Hm. In my most recent upload, which was of somewhat smaller size,
though still fairly large, I let my machine run overnight and then
some. If it were working, however you'd see some kind of progress
indicated in the app. If you're not, you're not and something else is
amiss....good luck.

its something else. . . I suspect overlarge attachments, but I am not keen on erasing them just yet

Yeah. try creating a smaller mbox file with just a hundred messages or
so for testing and see if it uploads. if so, add in a few messages
with large attachments and see if they go in.

You could use a Windows computer to directly upload a PST file into
the Google account, at least this can be done for sure, from a paid
for Google Apps account, not sure about the free accounts...

Hey

Yes, i will give you the best migration tool for PST. the best one is PST to MBOX converter this one is very safe and convenient, i also try many other tools but they are all consuming lots of time and they are not good and some of them you need to pay. but this one is really good. I suggest everyone to use this: -  http: //www.toolsbaer. com / pst-to-mbox-conversion /.
