Hello,

I've migrated all old GoDaddy accounts to gmail and the last holdout
is my me.com (iCloud) email, of which there are many (aprox 45k
messages in all mailboxes). When I launched Google Email Uploader and
it scanned my mailboxes, it seemed to find everything EXCEPT the
iCloud email. Fine then, GEU also supports .mbox import. So I exported
out all iCloud mailboxes as .mbox.

There are five mbox files but only one is reading properly in GEU.

• Inbox.mbox had 7709 messages, and is 320MB on the desktop, yet GMU
counts only 1907
• Archive.mbox had 14,856 and is 1.74GB on the desktop, yet GMU shows
0 (zero)!
• Sent is also showing zero but has 20k messages and is 1.26GB
• one smaller mbox with 958 messages actually shows MORE; 1149 in GEU
• only one is accurate, and it's a tiny 7 message mbox. Go figure.

So… am I doing something wrong? Can't imagine what… pretty
straightforward app. Should the app have seen my iCloud email in the
first place when it scanned my mailboxes?

I'm on OSX Lion 10.7.3, Mail is Version 5.2 (1257), Google Email
Uploader Version 1.2.0 (1.2.0)

And yes I know this is an a**load of email to upload. But I do want to
move everything into one place so I'd really like to try!

thanks
-Joseph

I'm experiencing the same thing. I'm on 10.9.4. GEU thinks there are zero messages (0) in each of my subfolders which is untrue.

I have to archive large accounts for past employees. My current workaround is to download all mail and labels using Google Takeout, then use Apple Mail's import feature importing them as Apple Mailboxes (not mbox). This produces the correct numbers in GEU. But boy... that's some waiting around for these large inboxes.

My observations in the V2 folder helped me learn that Apple Mail doesn't keep multiple copies of mail data where it would exist in two places. Instead, it seems to maintain all data in the All Mail box and reference the message copy in it's other folders. Makes sense with Gmail but that's probably why GEU isn't seeing mail in subfolders.

Any help?
