I live in a rural area with no DSL, cable, T1, etc. I have a slow,
expensive satellite for my web access. My bandwidth is limited and I
chose to do software updates when I can get to a public library with
Wifi to save time and bandwidth. With forced updates and constant in-
touch with Google, my at home bandwidth use will be restricted.

I just downloaded LittleSnitch to alert me in the future. I'm not an
expert on computers and I submit 2 help requests to those who are
experts:

1) I would appreciate and value tips regarding how best to uninstall
Google Earth 5. With Google Earth 5 gone, is there any way to get the
previous version of Google Earth re-installed?

2) What other software does Google have always-on updaters embedded?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Sally,

1) This is the help group for the Google Earth Plug-in Javascript API
- not the full application that you are talking about.
You should post your request in the help group for the application.
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/earth?hl=en
(...For some reason most mac users don't seem able to grasp this
either!)

2) The Google Updater is the program that downloads and installs all
the software in the Google Pack.

Finally, here is the Google Updater for the Mac FAQs page.

F.

Thank you Fraser,

See, I told you I wasn't a computer expert - far from it.

I'll try to follow your advice. If I can. ;-)
