I have tried using the GE plugin with Flightradar24 (Cockpit View) and the Google driving simulator and I get the black window saying the plugin has failed after a few seconds? I have reloaded the plugin many times and still this happens both with the latest Firefox (v16.0.1) and Google Chrome.  The plugin verifies as v 6.2.2.6613. Although strangely in Firefox, the plugin version shown is 6.2.0.5788 and says it up to date?

My PC is an ACER ASPIRE E360 (with AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor, 2GBs RAM and ATI Radeon X1300 HN 512Mb graphic card). The OS is WinXP 32bit.

However, the plugin does seems to work OK on another PC which has a lower specification and using its internal graphics chip!

Does anyone in this group have any suggestions to what this problem could be?  Thanks...

No replies with suggestions yet on this topic - Do people in the GE support team not post to this forum?  I can't be the only person with this problem...

Is it not possible to interrogate or troubleshoot the GE plugin to see why the "GE plugin has failed. Please reload the page or reinstall the plugin" message appears?  As it is, the message is meaningless if one keeps reloading the page or re-installs the plugin and still it fails every time !!

This GE Plugin discussion group is a COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE !

So no one (and I presume the software engineers at Google also)  cannot explain why the black screen saying:

There was a problem with the Google Earth Plugin. Please try reloading the page.

If that doesn't help, you can re-install the Google Earth Plugin using this link.

Appears after a few seconds? For example, in the GE plugin demo driving simulator.

Ok, so there's a problem, but what needs to happen for this message to get flagged?
Reloading the page or reinstalling the plugin makes no difference.

Note that pretty much all Google products are unsupported. They dont provide support. (except for some of the paid products, Android, Google Earth Pro etc)

These forums are best you will get - and they are not regularly monitored by Google.

So these forums are primarlly for users to help each other. And we are not really equipped to help with advanced issues.

Take it you've tried reinstalling the plugin?

I too have given up on Google due to their lack of support: my website: http://climateviewer.com/ will be converting to Cesium very shortly, awaiting their KML->CZML translator and I am gone!

and yes, their developers give great support:
