Dear all,

I'm currently using google earth api to show user routes on a web site.
I have a custom DEM (Digital Elevation Model) which is more precise than the one used by google, and I'd like to use it.
Is there a way to import a custom DEM with Google Earth API?

Thanks in advance,
Sabrina

I'm almost completely sure it is currently not possible to display
custom 3D terrain in the GE plugin.

You could render it as a color map or as isolines and display it as a
ground overlay, but that's probably not what you want to do.

It would also be theoretically possible to generate a COLLADA model of
the terrain from your DEM and import as a KML <Model>, but that couild
get pretty involved.

Cheers,
Ted

Hi,

If that's the case, is it possible to import GIS files into Google Earth using the Google Earth API into the website?
I know that it's possible to import GIS data without going through the API.

Thanks,
Howard
