All black plug-in on server 2008

to KML Developer Support - Google Earth Plug-in
The plug-in is completely black but I can see the mouse pointer change
as I move the mouse around (hand turns to arrow pointer when it gets
near the position of the zoom control). I have the newest drivers for
the Matrox G400EW graphics card.
Java (32 bit and 64 bit) and activex are enabled and allowed. I am not
even using my own key, I am using the demo urls...
I think I have read every single post on the internet about this, and
not been able to solve this...
Anyone with good ideas ?
