API: Unable to generate a report with a Custom Dimension

Hi,

In the API, I'm unable to generate a query report that includes a custom dimension (created from the key-values).

The error we get is 'isCompatibleWithApiVersion': False

However, In the Ad Manager's GUI I can generate the same report.

 

I saw on other past threads that this feature isn't supported yet in the API.

1. Is there any estimation for this? 

2. Is there an unofficial API that enables this type of reports?

Hello,

In the API report, you can include the custom fields by setting the customFieldIds property in your report query. To get the IDs of your custom fields, you can run the CustomFieldService.getCustomFieldsByStatement(). A Java example from our client library can be seen here. This example is also available to other client libraries that we support.

Hi,

My question was regarding Custom Dimensions and not Custom Fields.

As I understand, they are used for 2 different functionalities but I might be wrong:

We want to generate an API report with more than 1 Key Value, and custom dimensions look like the only solution.

However, I saw here that it's not supported on the API:

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, as you have already seen in our forum pages, custom dimensions are not exposed to the API yet. We do not have an ETA on this. However, please follow our blog for any future updates.
