Downloading report taking too long via DFP API

 Hi,
 
 Currently, we tried to download the report via DFP API with the following dimensions and dimensions attributes but it takes more than 20+ mins to generate the report available:
 - Hour,
 - Order Id,
 -  Creative size,
 - Order name,
 - Ad Unit Name ( Flat view)
 - Device Category Name
 - Ad Unit Code

 What is the best way to improve downloading speed via DFP API? Please advise. Thank you.

Hello,

When you try running this report via UI does it take the same amount of time? Some of our best practices for improving reports being generated are:

- Reduce date ranges, i.e. instead of last 7 days do last 2-3 days
- Reduce number of dimensions to 10 or less as UI only allows a maximum of 10.

If you continue to have trouble, can you please share the complete SOAP logs and your network code? You can share this using "Reply privately to author". Also, please do not share any private information like username/password or tokens.

Hello,

I was able to generate the report on your network but it also took me a long time. The report has a lot of data (~1.2gb and over million rows) which is probably why it is taking so long. Since it took awhile on the UI as well, I would suggest reaching out to our Product team's forum to see what could be done to optimize the report data being generated.

Nothing comes to mind. I would suggest posting on the product forum that the UI is also taking a long time to download the report. Also, ask if there are ways you can optimize the report to reduce the amount of data.
