We are using the API to make modifications to VAST (redirect) Creatives. We first get the full current state, alter some properties (eg VastXmlUrl, name) and send the full creative back using the CreativeService UpdateCreatives method.

We noticed that the option "Allow multiple impressions from trusted server-side ad insertion (SSAI)" becomes unchecked after updating a creative this way through the API.

This setting/property is not present in the Creative API output, nor can I find a way to set it programmatically.

Additionally, the fact that this setting became unchecked is also not visible in the change history.

Our intention is to not modify anything on the creative apart from the properties we do want to change, this is undesired behavior.

Is there a way we can keep this setting as-is when making updates to the VastRedirectCreatives?

We are calling the SOAP API directly using node/JS, if that matters.

Thanks

Hi Sam,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ad Manager API support team, this is Madhushree.

Can you please confirm which service you are using to modify the VAST creatives?, regarding the option "Allow multiple impressions from trusted server-side ad Insertion(SSAI)" is available only in Ad Manager UI as beta version(which means its stiil in  testing) and you can not set it programatically via API.

Being said that, allow me to raise your concern about when creatives are updated via API, the option "Allow multiple impressions from trusted server-side ad insertion (SSAI)" becomes unchecked and its not showing up in change history with the rest of our team. Rest assured that one of our colleagues will address this to you when we have an update on this.

Hi Madhushree,

We're currently using CreativeService v202202 (https://developers.google.com/ad-manager/api/reference/v202202/CreativeService) and making calls using the UpdateCreatives method.

I understand that the feature is still in beta, and that it is not possible to enable/disable it explicitly using the API.

Our main concern is, as you correctly state, that this settings becomes unchecked without any explicit intention nor visibility.

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.

Hi Chris,

In the environment we use for our tests, we have the "Internal redirect to Google Campaign Manager" option greyed out, so no direct way to test it.

But since this option is also not exposed in the API, I just wanted to make sure this is also something that doesn't change when you make an update to the creative (similarly to the ssai checkbox described above).

Can you shed some light on that as well? Thanks.

Sam

Hi Sam,

I'll take a look at this field and verify for you. The SSAI fix is checked in and should be fully rolled out in the next day or so.
