DFP Change History?

Hi, is the API able to pull the order/line item change history? I'm looking for a way to see line items that were changed by a specific user the day before (or any other duration of time). Looked around the reference, but didn't find a history field in User Service or Line Item Service. If this capability isn't available, is there another way to get line items that a specific user recently changed? Thanks!

Hi Edwin:

Unfortunately change history is not available via the API. The closest you can do is get line items by their last modified date time. Additionally if you can track when your users are modifying line items through your code, you can do something like track your users yourself by using the notes field of a line item for example and then you can pull line items that were last modified the day before and examine the notes fields. Just a suggestion.

You can use PublisherQueryLanguage and query on table Change_History. Here is a Java example of using the service and table.

Just wondering if I can pull the exact change, i.e. what is changed/updated on the entity.
Right now I use the API, all I have is the Operation, which is very vague.

Getting the exact change via API is currently not supported. I have opened a feature request with the team to add "current" and "previous" state for the API so it is similar to the UI. Unfortunately, there is no estimate on when this will be exposed but you can follow our blog for upcoming features in our future releases.

We also have the similar request to get line item historical change information through API.

As we have data transfer files loaded to our system, in order to populate the correct revenue from data transfer file, we have the line item change history information.

I think you didn’t understand our request. We know about this feature of archive and it is no more available in DFP. We were trying to download data through API recommended by support. We are unable to find solution through API too.  We have hundreds  of changes on network and we want to download for last 4 months.  If I want to download archive from Sept, 2018 till Dec,  2018. How I can do this through the steps you explained?. If we can’t do through these steps anymore, is there any other way.

Hi Abdul,

I hope you had a great weekend!

You can view the latest change log made in the Network under 'Admin' section in 'Change History'. However, it isn't possible to download the latest data.

Per the requirement to view and download changes made by a particular user, navigate to ‘change history’ in ‘Admin tab’:

1.    To view recent changes, select ‘Everything’ radio button.

2.    Select ‘Type’ as ‘All’ in drop down menu.

3.    Select the ‘Date range’ per your requirement.

4.    Mention the name or email address of the user you want to check change logs in the ‘User’ textbox.

5.    Click Search.

To export/download archived change history report (past data), please follow these steps:

1.    Navigate to ‘Change history’ in ‘Admin tab’.

2.    Click 'change history archive' (screenshot attached - Change_History.png).

3.    Click on the required month/year that you wanted to download change history report (screenshot attached - 'Change_History_Archive.png').

4.    Report will be downloaded in .jz file(attached Sample file)
