Hello,

All our jobs are throwing the exception with error as "ServerError.SERVER_ERROR @". The seem to be in random on updating line items. It occurs  after updating  like 50-60 line items and then throws this error. If we rerun the job it continues to update successfully for another 80-100 line items  before hitting this error again. This has started since this morning for us.

From the exception it is:
Inner Exception Type: Google.Api.Ads.Dfp.Lib.DfpApiException<br/>Inner Exception: [ServerError.SERVER_ERROR @ ]<br/>Inner Source: Google.Ads.Common<br/>Inner Stack Trace: <br/>   at Google.Api.Ads.Common.Lib.AdsSoapClient.MakeApiCall(String methodName, Object[] parameters) in c:\MyProjects\now\Common library base\dfp\compile\Lib\AdsSoapClient.cs:line 190
at Google.Api.Ads.Dfp.Lib.DfpSoapClient.MakeApiCall(String methodName, Object[] parameters) in c:\MyProjects\now\Common library base\dfp\compile\Lib\DfpSoapClient.cs:line 125
at Google.Api.Ads.Common.Lib.AdsSoapClient.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) in c:\MyProjects\now\Common library base\dfp\compile\Lib\AdsSoapClient.cs:line 110
   at Google.Api.Ads.Dfp.v201204.LineItemService.updateLineItem(LineItem lineItem) in c:\MyProjects\now\Common library base\dfp\compile\v201204\DfpApi.cs:line 1409

Any idea?

Thanks
Anand

Hi Anand,

Do you have the SOAP response for any of these? If so, I can take a look.

Thanks,
Adam Rogal, DFP API Team

Hi Adam,

I just got the same error from our server. But I dont see any SOAP log in the path defined in the configuration settings even though I have set LogToFile=True and LogErrorsOnly=True. We use the c# libraries. How can I get those logged/captured?

Thanks
Anand

Hi Anand,

Can you try setting LogErrorsOnly to false like the default here (http://code.google.com/p/google-api-dfp-dotnet/source/browse/wiki/HowToCaptureSoapMessages.wiki)?  It would also help to get your network code as well as any logs you can provide that demonstrates this problem.

Thanks,
Jeffrey Sham, DFP API Team

Thanks for the pointer. I have set the LogErrorsOnly to false and once I get the error I will send the SOAP info.

Thanks
Anand

Hi Anand,

It looks like this is a getLineItem call and by the sound of your description in the previous email, you are making this call back to back to fetch line items.  Is there a way you can batch up these requests using a getLineItemByStatement where id in (id1, id2, id3, ...) and see if you still see the problem (if it works, it will also be a more efficient way of using the API)? My theory is that the back to back calls are causing some concurrency issues.

Thanks,
Jeffrey Sham, DFP API Team
