Hey team, is this field surfaced via API? I couldn't find it in the documentation but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.

I understand that your concern is related to the Ad Manager API, however, a network's default settings can only be adjusted in the UI. With that being said, I can try to raise a feature request for this, but I would just like to ask for you to provide more details as well as your use case regarding this.

Hi Yasmin,

We have just upgraded to the 202108 API (from 202011) and noticed that lineitem.videoMaxDuration is now a required field for video ads (since the introduction of the 202102 API).

As you've indicated this setting (Ad Opportunity Duration) is not available via the API. Is there any intention of making this available? Without it being available via the API, we have to have a separate setting in our application to configure this setting which is less than ideal.

Hi,

Just one other question regarding this issue.

We are now setting videoMaxDuration on the Lineitem through the API (defaulting to 30 on creation), however this is not showing up in the GAM UI under Creative forecasting defaults | Max duration as below. Or am I miss interpreting this?

When we retrieve the lineitem back from the API the lineitem does show videoMaxDuration = 30 so it is persisted to the API.

Hi Mark,

This field is in milliseconds, so you'd need to set it to 30,000 to represent 30 seconds. The UI is reflecting your value of 30ms, and rounding it down to 0 seconds.

I knew it must’ve been something simples – thankyou. Obviously setting the value to 30 milliseconds was enough to allow the API to create the lineitem.
