Hi Support,

Hope all is well! We are looking at the Progammtic_Buyer match table (located in the doc here for reference) and we are missing the PartnerClientID field in the match table. Are you able to enable that for us? Screenshots below for reference:

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for contacting the Ad Manager API support team, this is Yasmin.

Can you please confirm if one of your colleagues have reached out to us with the same concern as mentioned in your post?

That being said, I'd advise you reach out to the BigQuery connector support team for further assistance on this, via this link. On that note, you can use the Ad Manager API to query the table with the column included. You can check out this link for the available client libraries the Ad Manager API currently supports and choose the client library of your liking. You can then navigate to its PublisherQueryLanguageService folder and check its corresponding distribution of the GetAllProgrammaticBuyers (reference in the Java client library).

Should you have any further questions, just let me know.

Best regards,

Hi Yasmin,

Confirming that nobody outside of myself has asked for this field (to my knowledge). I work very closely with Leigh (Head of Ad Operations here at Insider who manages GAM) and chatted with her prior to this communication.

As for the links you provided, we will test this out. But please keep this ticket/communication open in case we have questions or issues. If this does work, we will confirm via this email that it works.

Best,

Anthony

Hi Yasmine,

It looks like the link for GCP support isn't the right one for us. We are actually receiving data directly to our GCP account by Google (i.e. we aren't making an API call to retrieve that data). Can you please update the table to include the PartnerClientID field? All details below:

GCP Data Set ID: bi-gam.gam_transfer
GCP Project ID: bi-gam
GCP Project Number: 503130546555
GCP Project Name: bi-gam
GCP Table ID: bi-gam.gam_transfer.p_MatchTableProgrammaticBuyer_4442842

Hi Anthony,

The link I had sent out is the link which you may go to for the BQ Connector support team. I would highly recommend you reach out to the Google Cloud Platform support team for further assistance as your concern is already outside our Ad Manager API team's scope of support. You may reach out to them via this link.

Hi Yasmine,

Understand that the link you sent is for BQ Connector Support, but it is asking us to pay for that level of support (i.e. there's no contact for us there, which is problematic). So the problem here is that the missing field in the Programmatic_Buyer table does not stem from Insider's end, but on Google's end since we are not the ones initiating any API calls, etc.; Google is actually doing a straight data transfer to BQ. If you can facilitate a direct email conversation with the BQ Connector Support team on our behalf (or add that rep to this email chain) that would be ideal and we can chat with all parties here together.

@Sarah Rothstein - Can you help facilitate this for us? The bottom line is we need that field and are not in control of the way we receive the data from Google via BQ today and need a Google support rep to just enable it for us.

Let me know if this makes sense

Best,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Nice to e-meet you. I'm a Data specialist working as a Customer Engineer for Business Insider. As you have found out, you do not have the level of Cloud support to raise a case with the Technical Support team. While the Google Ad Manager team is supporting you in parallel, I hope I can help you from the Google Cloud side, but I don't have required visibility into your project. Therefore, I shall ask you to provide me with two screenshots. As far as I know, the Google Ad Manager transfer files are provided to you in a GCS Bucket. To get the data from the GCS to BigQuery, you must have set up a BigQuery Data Transfer service job. Would you send me two screenshots of the file schema in the gcs bucket(you may need to download a file as a sample) and the BigQuery DTS job?

Kindest,
Sepi

Hi Anthony,

Thank you for providing the screenshots. As you have also mentioned, the data that is transferred to you by Google does not have the required field. It's an issue with the GAM API. We are tracking this internally with the GAM API team. +Yasmin Gabrielle Padua has raised this with their team and they will get back to us with feedback.

Kindest regards,
Sepi

Hi everyone,

I'll try to provide some context. The short answer here is that Google's Big Query Data Connector team will need to add additional support for this field. It's not currently supported in their table. Their reference documentation links to the Ad Manager SOAP API, which does have support. I'll raise a feature request with their team but I don't have any information about when this might be available.

If you need this data today, you can retrieve it from the Ad Manager SOAP API and import it into BigQuery yourself. The Ad Manager SOAP API has no additional cost.

Thanks,

Hi Chris,

Thanks. Keep us posted on the feature request and progress. We found a way to retrieve the data today, but it's not automated.

Best,

Anthony
