Hi All,

I'm currently investigating the best way to automate campaign production for digital display, and have two approaches to choose from.

1) DC Studio Dynamic Creative
Use the Dynamic Creative feature in DC Studio to automate campaign production with a feed, html templates & asset library, and publish to CM.

2) Upload generated creatives via CM API
Generate the campaign creatives with my automation platform (this is also feed driven like Studio Dynamic Creative), and upload them directly to CM via the API.

I'd like to follow the API integration with Option 2, as I can bypass all the configuration associated with Studio Dynamic, but need some more clarity before I commit to this decision.

Deciding Factors
a) Which option is cheaper?

b) What are the limitations of each option?
- How many creatives can I upload with the API?
- Can I only traffic rich media with Studio?
- What are the max file-weights (kb)?
- Can I upload video banners direct to CM, or do I have to use Studio?

c) Which option is easier for trafficking teams to manage?

d) Is it easy to move from one option to the other, if I made the wrong choice?

Example Client Persona
- 10 Master Banner Sizes
- 10 Image variations
- 10 Languages

= 10x10x10 = 1000 Banners a campaign.
1 campaign a month = 12,000 banners a year.

Any insights would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Joseph

Hello Joseph,

Michael here from DCM API Team.

Please be informed that we can only respond to questions directly related to the API responses issues.

For uploading of creatives, you may refer to this documentation. With regards to the limitations, kindly take note that the API matches only any limitations that the UI has. Additionally, even though you are planning to use the API for uploading, your other queries seem to be more product related concerns rather than API responses issues. That being said, we would recommend reaching out directly to the CM360 product support team for your queries to be handled accordingly. Kindly use this thread when reaching out to them for additional context and to avoid back and forth between the two support channels.

Thank you for your response Michael,

I spoke to the Studio & CM teams, and they pointed me here to the API support team.

As my question revolves around bridging products & services, it seems that each siloed support team will not be able to help me.

Do you know if there is a sales or solutions consultant I could query with my request? Someone with experience working across the Google Advertising Eco system?

Thanks,

Joseph

Hello Joseph,

Thank you for your response.

I understand your concern. However, I’m afraid that we’re left with not much of an option here since on our end, if the issue is found to be not an API responses issues in itself, but rather product related queries, the only routing direction we can point to you is the CM360 product support team for your concerns to be handled accordingly.

Regards,
